Jeremi de Bruin
Director
As part of his work in secure payment infrastructure, he developed a configurable software cryptographic module capable of supporting multiple cryptographic protocols. This module was designed to interface seamlessly with Thales (formerly RACAL) Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), providing a flexible and robust foundation for secure transaction processing. In 1996, he founded his own company and developed one of the first card payment gateways in Africa, enabling online payments for the accommodation sector. In 1999, he initiated the e-filing concept, and his company, alongside four others, was awarded the government SARS tender to deliver online VAT remittance and payment solutions for VAT vendors.
Since then, our company has continued to develop advanced payment technologies within the low-value EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) space. These systems are currently in use by over ten financial institutions, including three of the largest banks globally. In addition to my technical and entrepreneurial work, I have held several governance and leadership roles. I served on the following boards boards: Hicor, South African Payment Exchange and Veriseal, and I currently serve on the boards of PayTeq (CEO), GoTrips, Inequity Properties (CEO), Shiftor Investments (CEO) and Inequity Holdings (CEO). I also held the position of Chairman of Central Gauteng Judo from 2004 to 2005. In the field of competitive judo, I participated in the World Masters Judo Championships in 2001 in Londonderry, Ireland, where I ranked 5th, and later won the South African Masters Judo Championship in Port Elizabeth in 2006.
